Potato Bonda


Who doesn’t like a warm deep fried snack to have it in tea time? Today i made this as a tea time snack.This Potato  Bondo is a very tasty and taste bud tickling food. It’s a perfect tea time snack.

Ingredients:
3 medium sized potatoes
2 small onion cut in small pieces
3 green chilies small cut
1 small piece ginger grated
1 small bunch coriander leaves
½ tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp lemon juice
salt to taste

For the Batter :
Bengal-gram dal flour – 3 cupfuls
Rice flour – ½ cup
Red chilly powder – ½ teaspoon
Baking powder – ¼ teaspoon (optional)
Salt – ¾ teaspoon, (as per taste)

Method:
1. Combine the Bengal-gram dal flour, rice flour, chilly powder, baking soda powder, and salt by adding enough water to make it a thick batter which pours heavily from a spoon. Beat up the batter for 2 minutes and keep aside.
    2. Boil and mash the potatoes. Add small cut onions , , green chilies, grated ginger, small cut coriander leaves, red chili powder, and salt to taste
   3. In a wide mouthed pan, heat 2 tsp of oil and splutter the mustard seeds. Add the green chilies and sauté for a minute. Add the onions and saute till translucent.. Add the turmeric powder, salt, coriander leaves and mix. Set aside to cool and squeeze half a lemon into the mixture.
  4. Add to the potato mixture, mix and make small lime sized balls and set aside. Now heat a sauce pan with oil, when hot
5. Dip the potato balls in the batter and drop them in the oil one by one.. Let them start to turn a slight shade of brown
6. Remove them to a dry plate. Serve hot with any of your favorite chutneys and enjoy!

Kunukku

First I wish to Thank u all for your support &and for your consoling words... Still I am on the same situation. Trying back to normal.. . I decided not to blog for sometime now. But I decided to be positive during tough times and make myself busy in some work when things have gotten beyond my control. . However, I have decided to keep posting at least once in a week.

Now a days being spiritual I started new blog name Bhakti. This blog consists The most important temples, mantras and stories related to spiritual whatever I know, I heard, I read through spiritual books will be described in this blog.

All of it is a journal of my journey on the search for True Bhakti. I am welcoming u all on this Spiritual journey... Your suggesstion and feedback are welcome!



Kunukkus are so delicious and they taste amazing. It is traditionally prepared by soaking dhals and rice and grinding with chillies and salt and the batter is deep fried like bonda. For a quick version, I make it with left over idli / dosa batter .It is a perfect delicious snack for a rainy evening!


Ingredients:

Idli batter - 1 big bowl

Maida or rava - 2 to 3 tablespoons

Cooking soda - a pinch

Onion - 1

Green chillies - 2

Curry leaves - few

Asafoetida Powder - 1/4 teaspoon

Oil - for deep frying

Method:

In the idli batter Add maida or rawa and mix well.

Chop onion and green chillies finely

Add a pinch of salt , hing powder , chopped onion , green chillies and curry leaves to the batter.

Heat oil in a kadai and take a small spoon of batter and pour it in the hot oil. Fry till it turns light brown.

Vegetable Chop &Broiled Tomatoes

Vegetable Chop

The dish has gone from few vegetables to my many, and whatever you have in the house works well. I have never had a recipe for this, so all amounts are approximate and you should feel free to add more of what you like and less of what you don't. If you have some other additions, please share them. Here's myrecepie:

Ingredients:

Onions: 1
Boiled Peas : ½ Cup
Beetroot: 1 Cup
Cauliflower: 1 Cup
Bread Crumbs: 1 Cup
Boiled Potatoes: 1 Cup
Chopped carrots: 1 Cup
Corn Flour: 1 Cup
Pepper: 1 Tsp
Ground Black Pepper: ½ Tsp
Turmeric: ½ Tsp
Red Chilly: ½ Tsp
Ginger Garlic Paste: s1 Tsp
Green Chillies: 1 Tsp
Resins: 3 Tsp
Lemon Juice: 2 Tsp
Salt To Taste
Oil:


Method:

1.Boil&Blend All The Vegetables In A Blender
2.In A Pan Heat Oil And Add Ginger, Garlic Paste And Saute It
3.Now Add Red Chilly, Turmeric, Pepper, Black Pepper, And Green Chilies
4.Now Add Salt, Ground Vegetables, Resins, Lemon Juice, And Then Heat It For Sometime
5.Now Add Bread Crumbs And Make Dough Out Of It
6.Now Dip The Dough In The Corn Flour And Bread Crumb To Coat And Deep Fry
and serve hot.


Broiled Tomatoes

Dress up any meal with Broiled Tomatoes. Serve this healthy and tasty side dish with your breakfast your lunch or with your dinner.. Simply delicious

Ingredients:

Ripe, red tomatoes-4

Butter-2tbsp

1/2 tsp sugar

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

cheese, grated


Slice top and bottom off of tomatoes. Slice each tomato in half, yielding two thick slices. Place on foil lined baking sheet. Spread margarine over slices. Combine all dry ingredients and sprinkle evenly over slices. Top with cheese. Broil until browned, grill, or bake
